Incognito

Incognito

In-
Cog-nit
O, what a
Lie! Tell yourself
'No one sees or knows'
[Cognit] latin 'to know'
Also means 'to understand'
I understand that it's a trap.
A mobile way to hide your filth and
'Eat' it like manure mud pies or cookies.
Makes me want to toss mine. Understand,
I'm not condemning; I'm caught too.
Say you can clear your history,
But you can't clear your conscience.
Now I know there is no
'Incognito' tab
In the mirror
I have to
Face my
Self

  1. I love the form of this poem and how it marries so well to the content - esp. ending with a reflection and the word SELF.
